2007/2008 Luncheon Menus* & Entertainment:
September 20 - Battalion Chief Jerry Good and Bob Markussen, LOP Security, speaking on LOP's Fire Safety & Emergency Plan. Menu: Teriyaki beef kabobs, fried rice, Asian salad with Asian dressing, wontons. Vegetarian: same without beef. Creme brulee for dessert.
October 18 - American Cancer Society Discovery Shop Fashion Show. Menu: Stuffed tomato with chicken salad on bed of spring salad greens, vegetable soup, warm French rolls. Vegetarian: Same except tomato stuffed with diced fresh veggies and cheese. Fresh berry tarts with whipped cream for dessert.
November 15 - Mary Prowense, children's author of historical fiction, speaking on researching and writing fiction. Menu: Chicken cordon blue with white wine sauce, warm spinach salad, hot rolls. Vegetarian: Artichoke fritatta, salad and rolls as above. Pumpkin pie with whipped cream for dessert.
December 13 - Forest Lake Christian School Choir will entertain. Menu: Braised stuffed pork tenderloin with wine sauce, roasted red potatoes and herbs, buttered fresh green beans, fruit salad, parker house rolls. Vegetarian: Stuffed portabella mushrooms with same sides as above. Chocolate tort for dessert.
January 17 - Reinett Senum, adventurer, speaking about her travels, especially her solo travel in Alaska. Menu: Chicken enchiladas, Spanish rice, refried beans, taco salad, chips and salsa. Vegetarian: Ortega chili cassarole, salad and sides as above. Flan for dessert.
February 21 - Michelle Arcediano, Anne Conley's daughter, speaking about when to call 911 (signs of stroke, heart attack, etc.), and what to do while waiting. Menu: French dip sandwich, tomato, mozzarella and basil salad, cheese oven fries. Vegetarian: Veggie cheese melt sandwich, salad and sides as above. Apple crisp for dessert.
March 20 - Bear River Jazz Band will entertain. Menu: Chicken piccata on fettuccine, chopped Italian salad, garlic bread. Vegetarian: Pasta primavera, salad and bread as above. Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting for dessert.
April 17 - Linda Kennedy, Storyteller. Menu: Chef's salad with real turkey and real bacon and choice of salad dressings. Vegetarian: Chef's salad as above without meat or bacon and with extra cheese and avacado. Ice cream sundae for dessert.
May 15 - The LOP Home Tour. Menu: Southern picnic of fried chicken, homemade potato salad, fresh green beans, cole slaw and cornbread, iced tea and lemonade. Vegetarian: Baked zucchini and cheese boats. Pecan pie or tarts for dessert.
June 19 - Installation of officers and white elephant sale. Menu: Thai beef salad served with citrus vinegar dressing and side of wontons. Vegetarian: Asian salad as above without beef. Chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
