2009/2010 Luncheon Menus* & Programs:
September 17 - Program: Representative from Grey Construction discussing the status and timeline for the new Sports Lounge project. Menu: Fruit salad, cashew chicken salad on a croissant, fries and banana pudding tart. Vegetarian: Egg salad croissant.
October 15 - Program: David Watkinson, President of Idaho Maryland Mining Corporation, will discuss the history and future of the company. Menu: Italian salad, chicken piccata, rice pilaf, asparagus, garlic French bread and apple crisp. Vegetarian: Eggplant parmesan.
November 19 - Program: Discovery Shop Fashion Show. Menu: Harvest green salad, roasted turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, peas with pearl onions, cranberry sauce, roll and pumpkin pie cake. Vegetarian: Zucchini boats.
December 17 - Program: Choral musical group. Menu: Christmas crunch salad, roasted pork with blackberry sauce, buffet potato cassarole, green beans almondine, rolls and cookies with ice cream and a small candy cane. Vegetarian: Stuffed portabella mushrooms.
January 21 - Program: "Horses for Healing" with Julie Zumwalt speaking on improving the life of disabled adults and children through their involvement with horses. Menu: Tortellini soup, grilled chicken Caesar salad, rolls and pineapple pudding cake. Vegetarian: Caesar salad without the chicken.
February 18 - Program: Deric Rothe, Senior Editor/General Manager of the Auburn Journal will speak about the challenges, opportunities and rewards of publishing a daily newspaper. Menu: Strawberry spinach salad, croissant, quiche (chef's choice), potatoes O'Brien, fruit and brownies with caramel sauce and ice cream. Vegetarian: Same as regular menu.
March 18 - Program: Christine Adams of the California Raptor Rescue Center in Davis, California. Ms. Adams presents an interesting and fun program including some beautiful real birds. Menu: Pineapple and carrol lime jello on lettuce leaf, corned beef and cabbage, boiled potatoes and carrots, French bread and bread pudding with vanilla sauce. Vegetarian: Stuffed baked potatoes (cheese and broccoli).
April 15 - Evening Meeting beginning at 5:00 PM. Program: "Welcome Spring/Summer Fashions" presented by the Assistance League. Menu to be announced.
May 20 - Program: The LOP Home Tour. Menu: Tortilla chips and salsa, make-your-own taco bar, rice and beans and flan. Vegetarian: Same as regular menu.
June 17 - Program: Joanne Drummonde, Nevada County Fire Safe Council Director, speaking on fire safety and the LOP Firewise Communities program. Also, dancers from In Sync Dance Studios of Auburn and Installation of 2010-2011 Firebelles Officers. Menu: Fresh veggies and dips, fried chicken, potato salad, baked beans and apple pie ala mode. Vegetarian: Grilled vegetarian sandwich on a Kaiser roll, including grilled zucchini, red sweet peppers, portabella mushrooms and brie cheese.
